Came over in early May and set the finished floor in place. I had cut a new hatch in the floor to be able to access the fuel tank cleanout. I used strips of mahogany to line the sides of both hatches.
I then set about removing the old gusher pump for the holding tank as well as the vented loop for it. I also removed the thru hull and valve. It cleaned up that area pretty well.
I then glassed it over with several layers on the outside and a couple on the inside here. Then I removed the old hot water heater which took some doing. After ripping the old shell off and removing most of the fittings it still wouldn't fit through the cockpit opening. I ended up cutting the tank in half. I cleaned up the area and painted it. I then moved one of the batteries from the #1 bank over into that spot. There will now be a 3 battery bank there and one battery for starting the motor. I also installed terminal fuses on both battery banks (125 amps).
I rerouted the hoses from the water heater to the expansion tank. I had to install a short nipple in order for the hose to reach.
I installed a new battery monitor ( Victron BMV-700) and hooked up all the wires. The shunt was placed on the forward bulkhead inside the cockpit.
I reinstalled the vented loop for the motor exhaust. I had taken it out because it leaked last year. Turns out the metal loop is an odd size ( 1 1/4") and so I ended up attaching a small (1/4") nipple with JB Weld so I can change out the check valve if it fails again and to clean it.
I installed the fittings and plug for the new auto pilot ( Simrad TP-32) and hooked that up to the wiring panel.
I am still in the process of running the wires from the mast back to the main panel.
I had earlier installed a new stantion and rail which will hold the solar panel off the port side. I drilled the hole and put a deck gland in for the wires.
Just before leaving I repainted the cockpit floor and several other spots on the deck with the Kiwi Grip.
